Sometimes you just gotta let your feet do the painting. Because it's reallllly fun.

First, you'll need a really big piece of paper (we used a large stretch of our butcher paper from our Ikea paper dispenser) and some drops of bright vibrant paint (we are LOVING the colors of our
Colorations Simply Washable Tempera Paints).
You'll need a cute little pair of feet.
And then you set to work stomping those paint globs!
If you leave the paint drips spaced out a bit, you'll get some cool prints like this:
If you add more paint, you'll get a more intricate pattern like this:
So pretty, right?
And of course, we had to do a rainbow.
Helpful tips: Be sure to not add too much paint - if there's too much the paper will rip and you're more likely to slip. Encourage stomping versus walking, jumping, or running to decrease the likelihood of slips and falls. Paint can be slippery - so be sure to be close by to catch your little artist if they need it. We had so much fun making several stomp art masterpieces and hope you'll give this crazy painting technique a try!

Excited to try this!! We would just have to figure out somewhere to display it when we are done .. or we could use it as wrapping paper again :o) We used the same paper, painted it, and used it to wrap birthday presents for friends.

DeleteThank you SO much, Suzanne!!! That pin has become very popular! You rock!!!!!
DeleteDid you have some sort of wash basin to wash feet off when done or did you just use wipes to clean feet when done?
DeleteI just carried her in and washed her feet in the sink, but a basin could work or wipes! By the end there's not a lot of paint on the bottom, but some on the sides. Hope that helps! :)
DeleteDo you think duck cloth would work for this?
ReplyDeleteIs that like drop cloth? If so, YES! That would actually be perfect!
